Because of the nature of the Obami Service, privacy is considered a top priority.

Personally-identifiable contact details, such as a user’s name and email address, are required to validate user sign up. A user’s email address may be used in certain instances to give notice of activities occuring within that user's account or changes and updates to Obami’s offering. In the event of a user not wanting to receive such emails, it is possible for the user to adjust his/her privacy preferences within his/her account profile.

Obami guarantees never to disclose personally-identifiable information to any third party for marketing, promoting or any other purpose, unless the user has given his/her knowing consent in advance, or it is required by law.

Non-personally-identifiable information (gathered in the form of keywords from a user’s profile and other account applications) as well as records of a user’s IP address, browser type and so on, will be used to manage and improve Obami’s service offering, while monitoring safety and security for all Obami users. This data is also permitted to form a basis on which third parties may advertise related product and service offerings, as well as event listings.

Standard web technology, known as “cookies”, may be used to store small pieces of information on a user’s hard drive. Cookies enable users to log in or fill in forms without having to enter information each time a user visits the Obami website.
